EAST HANOVER TWP. – A beautiful sunny afternoon Sunday, Sept. 23, greeted more than 1,300 pet lovers and their dogs to Lurker Park for the annual Mutts Mania fundraiser for the Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter on Route 10.
Acura of Denville and Autosport Honda were the title sponsors of the event, now in its 12th year, which raised more than $30,000 for the no-kill private shelter that will save more than 800 lives in 2012, according to shelter Executive Director Suzanne Roman.
The highlight of the afternoon was a canine fashion show “Unleash the Love,” sponsored by Sent-Well celebrity judges Ice-T of “Law and Order SVU” and his wife Coco who stars with him in the reality show “Ice Loves Coco,” as well as Project Runway contestant Elisa Jimenez and the Milk Bone cover dog, the Chihuahua Eli, filled the panel of judges for the event.
